ALOE IN SAVIMAX
Savimax, has one of the most extensive plantations in Europe, with over 5 million plants. The conditions for the growth of aloe in the archipelago, and particularly in Fuerteventura island are ideal: the climate is warm, averaging 22 degrees with a minimum range variation during the day. The area enjoys a large number of sun hours throughout the year and its volcanic origin offers a substrata and underground waters with a wide variety of nutrients and minerals.
The lack of rain and the geologic conditions of the island grant the Aloe Vera of Fuerteventura health and unique properties. Not only their leaves deliver a large amount of gel, but also the quantity of substances and active components found in them, are very much higher than those found in any other region of the world
THE PLANTATIONS
The plantation lands are located only a few meters away from the factory and its premises. This diminishes the time between the harvesting of the leaves to the processing and manufacturing of the products.
The plants come from our ecologic plantations in the island of Fuerteventura (nº CRAE 2025/F, Controlling Council of Ecologic Agriculture of the Canaries).
THE PROCESS
The process begins with the picking, washing, and cleansing of the leaves. Then, they are cut to extract the aloin. This substance has to be completely set apart before processing the leaf. After this, the bark is separated to obtain the inner gel which is the base for the production of all the products.
After a previous grinding stages, a minimum number of additives are added to prevent the active principles of the aloe from rusting. Once the juice has been stabilized, a process of liquefying and cold filtering follow, to be then immediately bottled, in the case of juice, or to form part of other cosmetic products like cream, body gels, bath lines, etc. In this way, we make sure the juice maintains all its properties intact.
